Travel Directions to Aultbea Lodges
From central Scotland, Stirling/Perth area, follow the A9 North towards Inverness. The A9 bypasses Perth City centre and is well signposted all the way to Inverness.
The A9 also bypasses the centre of Inverness; you should follow signs for the A835, Ullapool, crossing over the Ness estuary on the Kessock Bridge. Keep following signs for A835 Ullapool at roundabouts. Ignore the first signpost for the A832, Gairloch, as this route has several stretches of single-track road and can take longer to reach us. We strongly recommend going on to the next turning for the A832, some twenty miles further on at Braemore Junction and travel to Aultbea from the North. This is a good road and is well signed for Aultbea, about 32 miles away.
Follow A832 all the way through Dundonnell and Laide. There is a small garage on the right in Laide, after another two miles you will see a large brown tourist sign ‘Visit Aultbea’. Soon after you will pass a smaller sign for Aultbea. Pass Aultbea Butchers on your right and the War Memorial on your left. You will then see a sign ‘Aultbea Lodges next left’. This turning is shared with the Drumchork Lodge Hotel. Turn left, carry on up the hill towards the Hotel and you will see the lodges and the lodge driveway on your left hand side.
If you do decide to approach Aultbea from the South, passing through Gairloch and Poolewe, as you come down the hill towards Aultbea you will see a sign on your right for Aultbea Lodges (shared with the Drumchork Lodge Hotel) opposite a road on the left signposted Aultbea. Turn right, carry on up the hill towards the Hotel and you will see the lodges and the lodge driveway on your left hand side.
Turn left into the lodge driveway, over the cattle grid, and turn left again into the second driveway on the left. The reception building is immediately on the right hand side with a small parking area ahead of you.
Please note that reception is open for collection of keys between 4pm and 6pm on Saturday only. If you cannot arrive before 6pm, you should call the lodge manager, Bill Brown on 01445 731260
Our number, if you need it, is 01408 621041.
