From central Scotland, Stirling/Perth area, follow the A9 North towards Inverness.

The A9 bypasses Perth City centre and is well signposted all the way to Inverness.

The A9 also bypasses the centre of Inverness; you should follow signs for the A835, Ullapool, crossing over the Ness estuary on the Kessock Bridge. Keep following signs for A835 Ullapool at roundabouts.
Ignore the first signpost for the A832, Gairloch (just past Garve), as this route has several stretches of single-track road. It is a slightly longer route and takes maybe an extra 20-30 minutes.

We recommend going on to the next turning for the A832, some twenty miles further on at Braemore Junction and travel to Aultbea from the North.

This is a good road and is well signed for Aultbea, about 32 miles away.

As you turn off at this junction there is a parking area on the right, for the Corrieshalloch Gorge, well worth a visit and it only takes a short walk from the carpark to enjoy it. (National Trust Members the site is free. If you are not a member there is £5 parking fee and no further cost to use the facilities and explore the gorge viewpoints and walks)

Follow A832 all the way through Dundonnell and Laide. There is a small garage on the right in Laide, after another two miles you will go down a hill and see a large brown tourist sign ‘Visit Aultbea’.
At the bottom of the hill, DO NOT turn right into the village. Carry straight on.
Your SATNAV may tell you to turn left into GEATA GAEL - DO NOT take this turn.

Carry straight on, you will then see a sign ‘Aultbea Lodges next left’ and a crossroads.
Turn Left up the hill.
This turning is shared with Oran-Na-Mara Cafe and the Drumchork Lodge Hotel.
Carry on up the hill towards the Hotel, past the Cafe, and you will see the lodges and Aultbea Lodge entrance, on your left hand side.

If you decide to approach Aultbea from the South, passing through Gairloch and Poolewe, as you come down the hill towards Aultbea you will see a sign for Oran-Na-Mara Cafe follow this by taking the right, up the hill at the cross roads (left takes you into the village). Carry on up the hill, past the Cafe and towards the Drumchork Lodge Hotel, you will see the lodges and the lodge driveway on your left hand side.

Both routes are extremely picturesque and worth travelling as part of your journey.

Turn left into the lodge driveway, over the cattle grid, you have reached your destination.

We will have discussed key collection and which lodge you are staying in prior to your arrival.
